[PVE] Mage - Fire DPS Spec & Guide (For 4.0.6)

Mage

This spec / talent build is for level 85 Mages and the 4.0.6 version of World of Warcraft
(Molten-WoW)

Fire has always been an excellent DPS spec, often being one that has the potential for the most hurt, but in 4.0.6, Arcane Mages nearly rivals its potential; Fire has the higher damage output while moving (this is quite useful in most encounters), while Arcane deals more damage when staying in one place. . Both are potent, but this spec/guide is going to be for Fire Mages specifically.
Go here for the Arcane spec/guide

This specific guide is a so called basic spec, mainly meant for new players (but more advanced ones can use it as well).

Fire DPS Talent Build / Spec (4.0.6)

Stat Priority:
The stats you should prioritize with this spec are the following:

Intellect > Hit* > Haste> Crit* > Mastery

*Hit (until cap)
*Critical Strike Rating

Glyphs:

The Glyphs to be used with this spec are:

Prime:
- Glyph of Fireball : Increases the critical strike chance of your Fireball spell by 5%.
Glyph of Pyroblast : Increases the critical strike chance of your Pyroblast spell by 5%.
Glyph of Molten Armor : Your Molten Armor spell grants an additional 2% spell critical strike chance.

Major:
Glyph of Dragon's Breath : Reduces the cooldown of your Dragon's Breath by 3 sec.
Glyph of Evocation : Your Evocation ability also causes you to regain 40% of your health over its duration.
Glyph of Invisibility : Permanently teaches you this glyph. Increases your movement speed while Invisible by 40%.

Minor Glyphs:
Glyph of Mirror Image : Your Mirror Images cast Arcane Blast or Fireball instead of Frostbolt depending on your primary talent tree.
Glyph of Slow Fall : Your Slow Fall spell no longer requires a reagent.
Glyph of Arcane Brilliance : Reduces the mana cost of your Arcane Brilliance spell by 50%.

Spell Rotation:
The spell rotation to to be used with this spec is the following:

Mirror Image > Pyroblast Flame Orb  Scorch (if no lock) > Fireball > Living Bomb > Fireball

Cooldowns:
Mirror Image : [3min CD] - Creates copies of the caster nearby, which cast spells and attack the mage's enemies. Lasts 30 sec. Costs 10% of base mana.

Additional information:

The "hit cap" (for Mages) is about 6% for Heroic Dungeons and 17% for raid bosses. You should get 17% as soon as possible, as any less will decrease your damage done (especially with the long cast times).
The balance between haste and crit is one of the hardest things to manage when speccing a Fire Mage. If you have reached 25% haste, consider crit more important. If only 15%, consider crit to be as important.

[PVE] Mage - Arcane DPS Spec & Guide (For 4.0.6)

Mage

This spec / talent build is for level 85 Mages and the 4.0.6 version of World of Warcraft
(Molten-WoW)

Arcane has always been a more or less viable DPS spec, but in 4.0.6, its potential rivals that of a Fire Mages's; Arcane has the higher damage output while not moving, while Fire does more damage when movement is necessary. Arcane also has a 3% increased damage dealing raid buff, which is a huge asset and should be taken into account when weighing different damaging specs. Both are potent, but this spec/guide is going to be for Arcane Mages specifically.

Arcane DPS Talent Build / Spec (3.3.5)

Stat Priority:
The stats you should prioritize with this spec are the following:

IntellecHit* > Mastery / Haste > Crit*

*Hit (until cap)
*Critical Strike Rating

Glyphs:

Glyph of Arcane Missiles : While Divine Plea is active, you take 3% reduced damage from all sources.
Glyph of Mage Armor : Your Judgements deal 10% more damage.

Major:
Glyph of Evocation : Your Evocation ability also causes you to regain 40% of your health over its duration.
Glyph of Mana Shield : While Divine Plea is active, you take 3% reduced damage from all sources.
Glyph of Arcane Power : Your Judgements deal 10% more damage.

Mirror Image Arcane Blast x4 Arcane Power Arcane Blast (until 30% of your mana) (> Evocation) > Arcane Blast x4 > Arcane Missiles

Arcane Mages should also follow their procs: weapon/trinket/talent

We also have some CDs (Cooldowns) to spice up your dpsing:

Mirror Image : [3min CD] - Creates 3 copies of the caster nearby, which cast spells and attack the mage's enemies. Lasts 30 sec. Costs 2% of base mana.
Arcane Power [1.5min CD] - When activated, your spells deal 20% more damage while costing 10% more mana to cast. This effect lasts 15 sec.
Presence of Mind : [1.5min CD] - When activated, your next Mage spell with a casting time less than 10 sec becomes an instant cast spell. [Is not on the global cooldown]

Additional information:

The "hit cap" (for Mages) is about 6% for Heroic Dungeons and 17% for raid bosses. You should aim for at least 6% hit rating, but preferably around 16%, as any less will decrease your damage done (drastically).
Also, keep your mastery at at least 16+, as with t11, you will get 10% reduced cast time and it is overall easier to reforge.

[PVP] Paladin - Protection Spec & Guide [2v2] (For 3.3.5)

Paladin

This spec / talent build is for level 80 Paladins and the 3.3.5(a) version of World of Warcraft
(Molten-WoW)

Protection Paladins have always been more of a PvE thing, but in 3.3.5, their burst damage and sustain made them even as good as viable (to a certain extent) in 2v2 arenas. Thanks to their surprisingly high damage, high sustain (natural tankiness, self heals and bubble) and several stuns, they are good with a high cc/damage dealing partner, and they can even 1v2 in some cases (although ranged champions are a pain for him). They also have the legendary paladin buffs!
While possibly still outshone by retribution paladins, Protection is definitely a fun option, especially on PvP realms like Warsong where you get instant 80 and some decent PvP gear for free.

This specific guide is a so called basic spec, mainly meant for new players (but more advanced ones can use it as well).

Protection PvP Talent Build / Spec (3.3.5)

Glyphs:

The major Glyphs to be used with this spec are:
Major:
Glyph of Avenger's Shield : Your Avenger's Shield hits 2 fewer targets, but for 100% more damage. [This is the only must have of the glyphs]
Glyph of Divine Plea : While Divine Plea is active, you take 3% reduced damage from all sources.
Glyph of Judgement : Your Judgements deal 10% more damage.

Minor Glyphs:
Glyph of the Wise : Reduces the mana cost of your Seal of Wisdom spell by 50%.
Glyph of Blessing of Kings : Reduces the mana cost of your Blessing of Kings and Greater Blessing of Kings spells by 50%.
Glyph of Sense Undead : Damage against Undead increased by 1% while your Sense Undead ability is active.

Additional information:

This spec is mostly for 2v2 ranked games, and will probably not reflect the needs of all PvP situations. You are free to tweak it to your liking/to better support your 2v2 team.
The "hit cap" for PvP tanks is about 5%, or (8% if you want to hit everything). You will have to grab a few PvP items with hit rating on them (for example a necklace or a cape), but it is worth it (at least to the 5% hit cap). You can also gain hit cap from both gear and buffs (and debuffs on your target), but also talents.
